The Brooklyn Nets have traded star forward Mikal Bridges and a 2026 second-round pick to the New York Knicks for Bojan Bogdanovic, four first-round picks (2025, 2027, 2029, 2031), a 2025 Milwaukee Bucks unprotected first-round pick, a 2028 unprotected pick swap, and a 2025 second-round pick.
A rebuild seems to be the likely scenario for Brooklyn as Bridges was their main acquisition of the Nets/Suns trade back in early 2023. He averaged 21.2 points per game in 109 total games as a Net.
However, the Knicks seem to be moving into an "all-in" mindset as they fell short of the Eastern Conference Finals last season. New York was dealing with injuries all postseason long and now acquire a player who has never missed a game in his entire career. He even played 83 regular season games in the 2022-23 season due to the previously mentioned Nets/Suns trade.
Mikal Bridges is the definition of an everyday player, and that's exactly what the Knicks could use right now. This could also mean that the Knicks are willing to part ways with OG Anunoby after they traded for him near the previous NBA trade deadline.
