DJ Moore has become the latest wide receiver to secure a major contract this offseason. The Chicago Bears star has inked a four-year extension worth $110 million, as confirmed by CBS Sports' lead NFL insider Jonathan Jones. This new deal includes $82.6 million guaranteed, according to ESPN. Notably, Moore has made history by becoming the first NFL receiver to have his first decade of career earnings fully guaranteed.
Moore's impressive performance last season, his debut year with the Bears, has certainly justified his record-setting contract. He achieved career highs with 96 receptions, 1,364 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns. His standout games included a spectacular Week 5 showing against Washington, where he amassed 230 yards and three touchdowns.
At 27 years old, Moore spent his initial five NFL seasons with the Carolina Panthers before being traded to the Bears in the 2022 offseason. Over his 97 career games (with 90 starts), Moore has caught 460 passes out of 752 targets for 6,565 yards and 29 touchdowns, averaging 14.3 yards per reception. He has surpassed 1,100 receiving yards in four of the last five seasons.
Moore's new deal places him among a group of wide receivers who have signed substantial, long-term contracts this offseason. This group includes Justin Jefferson of Minnesota, Amon-Ra St. Brown of Detroit, DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown of Philadelphia, Jaylen Waddle of Miami, Nico Collins of Houston, Michael Pittman Jr. of Indianapolis, Jerry Jeudy of Cleveland, and Mike Evans of Tampa Bay, among others. Meanwhile, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins from Cincinnati, CeeDee Lamb from Dallas, Brandon Aiyuk from San Francisco, and Amari Cooper from Cleveland are still awaiting their new contracts.
Moore will be a key component in a revamped Bears offense, which also features wide receivers Keenan Allen and rookie Rome Odunze.
