Week 6 NFL Predictions

DISCLAIMER: These are NOT TechTakes.ai certified picks

October 10th, 2024

By: Jack Weisberg

Week 6 Picks, ATS, and Analysis lets get right into it!

San Francisco 49ers (2-3) at Seattle Seahawks (3-2)

Line: San Francisco -3.5

Overview: The 49ers and Seahawks are both on losing streaks headed into this game. San Francisco has blown double-digit leads twice in three weeks, while Seattle's defense has allowed 71 points over their last two games. Both teams have the talent to turn their seasons around, and what better place to do it against a playoff contender in your division!

The question is: Can the 49ers fix their red zone issues and take advantage of a vulnerable Seahawks defense? Yes.

Prediction: The 49ers have won five straight against Seattle by an average of about 15 points, and they’ll be looking to continue that trend. Expect San Francisco to get back on track with a big divisional win.

That being said, give me the Seahawks against the spread in this one.

Score Prediction: 49ers 24, Seahawks 23

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4) at Chicago Bears (3-2)

Line: Chicago -2.5

Overview: The Jaguars finally got their first win of the season last week, but the Bears have been surging offensively, scoring 60 points over the last two weeks and facing mediocre competition. Jacksonville has historically performed well in London, but Chicago’s offense hqas been on fire recently, firing on all cylinders.

Can Jacksonville build on their first win of the season, or will Caleb Williams continue his rise with the Bears' explosive offense?

Prediction: The Jags are a better team than their record shows, I expect them to win this one with a great game plan to beat the Bears.

Give me the Jags against the spread here.

Score Prediction: Jaguars 27, Bears 24

Houston Texans (4-1) at New England Patriots (1-4)

Line: Houston -7

Overview: The Patriots are making an anticipated move by starting rookie QB Drake Maye, but this could be a tough debut against an inspired Texans defense. Houston has been consistent this season, while New England has struggled to find its footing offensively, to say the least.

Will Drake Maye give the Patriots offense the spark they need, or will Houston’s defense, led by Will Anderson Jr., be too much for the rookie to handle?

Prediction: The Texans’ defense is one of the best in the league, and they’ll make life more than difficult for Maye in his first start. Houston should win comfortably.

Texans will cover the spread in this one.

Score Prediction: Texans 24, Patriots 13

Washington Commanders (4-1) at Baltimore Ravens (3-2)

Line: Baltimore -6.5

Overview: The Commanders have been the league’s most electrifying surprise of the 2024 NFL season, riding a four-game win streak heading into the weekend. However, Baltimore’s run game could be the difference maker if they can control the clock and keep Washington’s offense off the field.

Can Baltimore’s defense bounce back after a tough overtime loss last week, or will Washington’s high-flying offense continue to roll?

Prediction: The Ravens need to control the tempo with their ground game to keep the Commanders in check. Expect a close contest, with Washington covering the spread but Baltimore squeaking out a win in overtime

I have the Commanders against the spread here. And yes, that can be legitimate in the NFC.

Score Prediction: Ravens 33, Commanders 27 OT

Cleveland Browns (1-4) at Philadelphia Eagles (2-2)

Line: Philadelphia -8.5

Deshaun Watson’s struggles continue for the Browns, and they face a well-rested Eagles team coming off a bye. Philadelphia will look to take advantage of Cleveland’s offensive woes and shaky defense.

Will Cleveland’s defense step up, or will the Eagles’ offense take control early?

Prediction: Seems almost too obvious. The Browns have shown little to suggest they can turn things around, while the Eagles are looking to make a statement.

Give me the Eagles to demolish the spread here.

Score Prediction: Eagles 35, Browns 10

Arizona Cardinals (2-3) at Green Bay Packers (3-2)

Line: Green Bay -5.5

Overview: Two teams that may be dark horse contenders to make a run in the new year. Marvin Harrison Jr. & Trey Mcbride should look to get going if they want any real chance in this one. We know the Packers will be stuffing James Conner in the run game.

Will the Packers' offense find its rhythm, or will the Cardinals’ improved play keep this game too close for comfort?

Prediction: Expect the Packers to use their home-field advantage to pull away in the second half.

I have the Packers barely covering the spread in this one.

Score Prediction: Packers 30, Cardinals 24

Indianapolis Colts (2-3) at Tennessee Titans (1-3)

Line: Indianapolis -1

Overview: Both teams have quarterback questions going into this matchup, with injuries playing a big role in their lackluster & inconsistent seasons. The Colts have been able to move the ball but have struggled defensively, while the Titans will rely on their strong defensive front to keep them in games.

Can the Colts’ offense find a way to win on the road, or will the Titans’ defense take control?

Prediction: Give me Joe Flacco and the Colts in the clutch to earn a tough win against a good defense in Tennessee.

Give me the Colts to cover the spread here

Score Prediction: Colts 26, Titans 20

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2) at New Orleans Saints (2-3)

Line: Tampa Bay -3.5

Overview: The Saints are starting rookie QB Spencer Rattler in place of the injured Derek Carr. I don’t think the Bucs defense will take kindly to no rookies. I also believe that the Bucs have much better days ahead and that they are a surefire contender.

Will Spencer Rattler rise to the occasion, or will the Bucs defense overwhelm the rookie in his first start? Surely.

Prediction: The Buccaneers will take advantage of the Saints' inexperience at QB and win comfortably.

I have the Bucs to beat the spread easily in this one.

Score Prediction: Buccaneers 27, Saints 13

Los Angeles Chargers (2-2) at Denver Broncos (3-2)

Line: Los Angeles -3

Overview: The Broncos have won three straight after a 0-2 start, and rookie QB Bo Nix has played a big part in their turnaround, but more so their defense. Meanwhile, the Chargers have struggled to find consistency after a strong start, but they’ll be getting key players back from injury going into week 6. Both teams have a lot to prove, and again, what better environment to deliver that proof than against a division rival!

Will the Chargers' offense return to form with Justin Herbert and Joe Alt back, or will the Broncos continue their hot streak?

Prediction: Denver’s defense has been stout, and Bo Nix is playing with confidence. Expect the Broncos to keep this one close and pull off an upset at home.

Expect this one to be close, I have the Broncos covering, but beware of this line.

Score Prediction: Broncos 22, Chargers 16

Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) at Las Vegas Raiders (2-3)

Line: Pittsburgh -3

Overview: The Raiders are making a change at quarterback heading into this week, starting Aidan O'Connell, and their offense remains a major reason for concern. The Steelers are coming off two tough losses but will look to bounce back against a struggling Raiders team, and they have no reason not to be confident about this one.

Can the Steelers' defense dominate a Raiders offense that’s still trying to find its identity? Yes.

Prediction: Pittsburgh's defense will make the difference in a low-scoring, grind-it-out game.

Give me the Steelers to cover in this one.

Score Prediction: Steelers 22, Raiders 17

Detroit Lions (3-1) at Dallas Cowboys (3-2)

Line: Detroit -3.5

Overview: Detroit is coming off a dominant performance, and Jared Goff has been playing at a high level, but the Cowboys might have something to say about that. Coming off a gritty win of their own, the Cowboys look to make a statement with vs. the Lions.

Can the Cowboys' defense, which has been decimated by injuries, slow down Detroit’s high-powered offense? They can’t.

Prediction: Detroit’s offensive firepower will be too much for a banged-up Dallas defense.

Lions will cover with ease.

Score Prediction: Lions 38, Cowboys 30

Atlanta Falcons (3-2) at Carolina Panthers (1-4)

Line: Atlanta -5.5

Overview: The Falcons are starting to click offensively, while the Panthers' offense has regressed after a promising start with Andy Dalton at the helm. However, something clicked with this Falcons offense in the last couple weeks, and I can’t see them dropping a game like this.

Can the Falcons take advantage of the Panthers’ porous defense and build on their recent offensive success?

Prediction: The Falcons should cruise to a comfortable win as the Panthers continue to struggle. However, this could easily be a trap game, and I wouldn’t bet on it.

The Falcons win this one and cover the spread.

Score Prediction: Falcons 31, Panthers 24

Cincinnati Bengals (1-4) at New York Giants (2-3)

Line: Cincinnati -3.5

Overview: The Giants' offense is showing signs of life under Brian Daboll, but they’ll have their hands full against a Bengals team that has been scoring at will in recent weeks. Daniel Jones has struggled in prime-time games, but he’ll need to step up to get this win.

Will the Giants be able to keep pace with Cincinnati’s high-powered offense, or will Ja'Marr Chase and the Bengals overwhelm New York’s defense?

Prediction: The Bengals should have too much firepower for the Giants to handle, especially if Jones struggles in the spotlight again.

The Bengals will run away with this one and cover the spread.

Score Prediction: Bengals 30, Giants 23

Buffalo Bills (3-2) at New York Jets (2-3)

Line: Buffalo -2.5

Overview: The Jets made headlines by firing head coach Robert Saleh, and they’ll be hoping for a motivation boost as they take on a Bills team that has lost two straight. Buffalo’s offense has been inconsistent, but Josh Allen will look to take advantage of a Jets team in turmoil.

Will the Jets rally under new leadership, or will the Bills get back on track and assert themselves in the AFC East?

Prediction: While the Jets may come out with some extra fire after the coaching change, Buffalo has too much talent on both sides of the ball and should pull out a win.

Bills with ease on this line.

Score Prediction: Bills 29, Jets 15
